Employment Record Policy
How employers record that somebody worked for them, and how a candidate answers it.

Why this exists
Hospitality hiring in India runs on phone calls between managers. "Did they turn up?" is asked constantly and answered off the record, which means the answer is unaccountable and the person it is about never hears it.
This platform puts that exchange on the record instead. That is only defensible if the person it is about is told, can answer, and the answer travels with the claim.
What an employer may record
An employer can file a record only about a candidate whose full profile they have viewed — that is, someone they chose View profile for and who they were therefore in a position to actually engage.
A record carries: the role, the date they joined, the last working day, and how it ended. It carries no free text about the person.
What happens the moment it is filed
- The record is live immediately. There is no review queue in front of it, because a queue would mean the platform vouching for it, and we do not.
- The candidate is notified at that same moment, not afterwards.
- The candidate has a right of reply of 200 characters, which is shown beside the record everywhere the record appears, forever.
We ask candidates to answer within [[PLACEHOLDER: reply window, e.g. 14 days]], but a reply is accepted whenever it arrives. A deadline on somebody's right to answer a claim about them would be a strange thing to build.
What other employers see
Another employer sees the role, the dates, and the category of exit. They do not see which employer filed it. That is deliberate: it stops rivals reading each other's hiring off the back of it.
What this platform does not do
- We do not adjudicate. Nothing here says a record is true or false.
- We do not score or rank people on their records.
- We do not remove a record because an employer asked us to remove it.
An operator can suppress a record — take it out of view — where it is clearly abusive or filed by an employer who was never in a position to know. Suppression is not a ruling, the row stays in the audit trail, and there is no field anywhere that says the record was false.
